NLENDEIT

My dog recovered from bladder problems; can I put him/her back on normal food?

This is dependent on the cause of the bladder problem. When your dog was suffering from struvite without a clear cause, there will be a greater chance that the struvite will return when switching back to the original food. In these cases it is wise to feed a struvite prevention diet for a longer period. However, in some cases, when there is a clear cause for the bladder stones, for example an inflammation, it is not necessary to keep your dog on an anti-struvite diet. Always consult your veterinarian before you decide to switch back to regular food. Anti Struvite Diet is not suited for kittens because of the acidic effect.
